Afonso Vieira, currently 26 years old, was born and raised in the heart of Lisbon, Portugal. Finished the Cinema bachelor in Universidade Lusófona de Tecnologias e Humanidades in 2019. Banho Santo was his final short film project (as cinematographer) presented among several festivals over two years and winning a few awards, including AIP Student.

After college Afonso started working in the film industry as a Spark, in a path that was important to understand how a camera reacts to different types of lighting and how that can enhance the visual storytelling .
Among bigger projects (feature films and streaming series, commercials and music videos) as an electrician, he kept on shooting smaller projects as a cinematographer with young directors, always aiming to shoot more and more of these projects, always respecting the long process of learning about this art and the responsibility of being part of a team.

Over these few years of work, Afonso realized that photographing i
s a huge complement to improve the art of cinematography - due to this, he always carry a 35mm Canon A1 with him.

In 2021 Afonso started to be part of SKATEARTE, an association that crosses the portuguese skate culture with art exhibitions and live music concerts. The project was born from a group of high school friends that after college combined their professional crafts. SKATEARTE has been growing bigger with Afonso dealing not only with the lighting montage of the exhibitions, but also with the photo and video coverage of the events, challenging teamwork and creativity notions.
